X Factor 2009: John and Edward Voted Off

As some of you may know, it was the “X Factor” live results show last night and that meant another act had to get sent home. And after Saturday night’s Wham and George Michael themed performances, it was Olly Murs and John and Edward in the bottom two.

The 18-year old Irish twins, who are now known as Jedward, had to sing for survival against Essex lad Olly Murs, who has been dubbed of the show’s favorites. But unfortunately for them, their rendition of Boyzone’s “No Matter What,” just wasn’t enough to save them.

According to guardian.co.uk, their performance appeared to be subdued and lacked their trademark dance routines and tricks that featured in all of their other performances. Olly Murs on the other hand, gave a polished performance of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.”

When it came down to the judges votes, Simon Cowell actually admitted that although he had to send John and Edward home, he was going to miss them. Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue also chose to send the twins home. So sadly for them, they were voted off.

Thanks to Simon Cowell loosing his bottle and other judges forgetting this is a “Singing contest”, The awful Jedward stayed in long past their sell by date. Their problem was accentuated in the sing off ,showing that without all the sound and lighting technology and other singing or dancing backing groups, they are pretty ordinary. Can you imagine them in a Working Man’s club or local pub? Don’t risk it fellas; you’ll be lynched.
