Good Morning America have canceled an appearance by American Idol Adam Lambert today, following the singer’s sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards.
The 27-year-old was due to perform on Wednesday to promote his album For Your Entertainment, however according to an ABC News spokesperson who said “Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”
Millions of viewers saw him simulate oral sex with a back-up dancer, plant a passionate kiss on the mouth of a male keyboard player and gesture to the audience with his middle finger during the closing act of the live music awards show. ABC has received more than 1,500 complaints about Lambert.
Lambert also is scheduled to appear on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman this week and on other TV programs. It was not clear whether other networks had canceled.
