Thousands of spectators took to the sidewalks in New York City today, for the 83rd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. And according to nydailynews.com, for the first time in its 83-year history, it avoided Broadway.
And there appeared to be a few new parade balloons today, such as Pillsbury Doughboy and Sailor Mickey. They joined old-timers such as Kermit the Frog, on the 2.65 mile route from Central Park West, to Seventh Avenue.
Yusset Nabarrete of San Diego said “I finally made it after 20 years. I really wanted to be here.” And he wasn’t wrong there, as he apparently staked out a spot on Seventh Avenue with some of his relatives, from about 3 am.
