Dancing With The Stars 2009: Mya Admits Disappointment

When Donny Osmond was announced the winner of “Dancing with the Stars 2009” on Tuesday night, it left quite a few people shocked at the final result. After all, the frontrunner of the season was Mya, who managed to get a few perfect 30’s.

And according to buddytv.com, Mya, who managed to become runner-up in the end, has even confessed herself, that she is disappointed with the outcome. When asked how she felt about the result, disappointed was one of the words Mya used.

Mya appeared to blaze through this season of “Dancing with the Stars,” scoring the first tens of the show and getting rave reviews from the judges. Even judge Carrie Ann Inaba said that Donny’s win and Mya’s loss was surprising, but good.

Next year can we have people like Kelly instead of people who are dancers in their profession? Donny and Mya both dance when they perform so it is not that big a deal when they are in the finals and win. I thought the idea of Dancing with the Stars was to find people “grow” like Kelly did. I was surprised she was on the show but I am now impressed how she blossomed and won the admiration of those who voted for her.

  3. Mike says:

mya must have been the winner! i think Donny Osmond payed the dancing with the stars so that he can win he even don’t know how to dance he must not win!

  4. Alyce Houser says:

I thought Dancing with the Stars was an honest show, with the BEST dancer winning the contest, BOY WAS I WRONG. Donny had improved and was very good, but Mya was the star performer, with the best performances. Did Donny pay for his win????? The judges were obviously getting something out of this, as the world knew that Mya was the very best. What a Sham!!!!

Its obvious that DWTS has no intentions to see that any person(s) of color ever win this show again since Emmet Smith and Cheryl. For the past three years a person of color has ended up in the finals, however they managed to be edge out to the underdog. Donnie had three or more mishaps this season (he won on who he was), whereas Mya was the most consistent. last year Jyle and Cheryl ended up loosing to a young gymnast who half the time showed no emotions.. I WILL NEVER WATCH AGAIN…

Clearly a popularity result and not a dancing skills one, but hey the guy’s in his 50.s and still manages to make astounding performances. Mya was without doubt the most accomplished celebrity dancer throughout the entire event, so, yes disappointing she didn’t win when she deserved it the most, but there it is that’s show biz

  8. Alanb says:

Clearly a popularity rather than dancing skill win but hey the guy’s in his 50’s and still able to do great performances. Sorry Mya didn’t get the trophy, without doubt the most accomplished celeb dancer this series.

    that’s show biz

  9. Lathan Fields says:

Dear Mya, disappointed is an understatement. You were great, the competition was ok. You know as well as anyone the entertainment business reflects the opinions of America. In a word, it’s Political! Not to mention per-Historical events, your efforts may have been pigeon-holed, ask Lil’ Kim. Key is your talents need expression and exposure, the World awaits. Pro L.

  10. where can i get all the songs that was on 2009 dancing with the star?

  11. tanya says:

Something went wrong, mya without a doubt was the best of the season. Her scores proved that. I will also not watch again and neither will my friends.

  12. Butch Porche says:

what was the name of the last song Mya danced to, slow dance, (trouble something) great song

  13. Seriously says:

So by saying that a person of color has never won I guess you mean a black person? Didn’t Emmett Smith and Jerry Rice win? Oh and Christi Yamaguchi while she isn’t black she def has a mixed ethnic background. Geez it is a giant popularity contest you morons!

  14. CHRISTINE says:

Donny Osmund: My mother says that she is a fan of yours and your sister since she was growing up and she wanted to let you know that she voted for you several times when you were in dancing with the stars made sure there were several votes for you, she wanted to also let you kow that she was always getting mad about the judges always putting you down and also trying to put your sistere down they dont know what there talking about you are the best dancer in the world. My mom is a 52year old woman and will continue to be watching you.

  15. What were the judges drinking along with the general population watching this show and selecting that Osmond jerk? I mean really, Donny may perform OK in Las Vegas BUT not DWTS. He and his stupid partner garned one set of 30s….What a SHAM indeed and why is this happening again for the third straight year that either a “person of colour” OR Latino (i.e. – MARIO LOPEZ)has been ignored????? DWTS is no longer entertaining…they are all RACISTS!!!!…One other thing – how many MORONS, oops, I mean MORMONS live in the USA???

    Disgruntled and MAD

  16. stevie says:

It is nearly impossible for me to believe that Donny made it to the finals – much less won! He stumbled, tripped, and stomped his way through many dances with a smarmy look on his face reminiscent of old vaudeville acts! Mya was smooth, sultry and above all HOT, HOT, HOT! I said it last year and will say it again – there is no justice in this world when the popular vote so outweighs the opinions of the judges who are dance professionals. Shame on America!

  17. Molly says:

Donny did a GREAT job and deserved to win. Stop with the sour grapes already.

  18. izzi says:

I am very disappointed in the obviously skewed voting of all the judges. I now know the show is not real and it is based in favoritism & popularity. The judges are not as professional as we all thought & probably stopped dancing because it was not their passion, nor do they know rhythm. It is very pathetic to snow a live audience and a devoted viewing audience at large. Carrie Ann being the youngest of the Judges should have not went along with the other two judges. Be Careful–Hollywood your corruptness is showing. For evil to survive it only takes one good person to watch and do nothing. I will not watch the show any longer and will & encourage others not to watch. This is like watching former Prez Bush steal the election–his legacy & integrity is the shame of our Nation. UNBELIEVEABLE YOU (JUDGES) ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED AS ADULTS TO ACT OUT THIS WAY IN FRONT OF YOUNG FOLKS–WHEN YOU SHOULD BE ROLE MODELS. A BLIND MAN USED HIS EARS TO SEE THE TRUTH, YET YOU HAVE EYES & LOOKED THE OTHER WAY. ALSO HAVING EARS DID NOT SPEAK THE TRUTH. I will pray you all will learn how to speak the truth & honor others who are worthy. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! Thank You.

  19. HERMES says:

Oh!!! boy!!!!! Just because you have been voted the favorite to winn @ the end of the season does’nt mean that you are not working
your butt off!!!! WE ALL KNOW THAT MYA DESERVES TO WIN- THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST SEASON EVER – CLEARLY DONNY AND KELLY DID NOT
DESERVE TO BE IN THE TOP THREE- MYA YOU ARE THE WINNER NO MATTER WHAT ALL THE OTHER ASSHOLES IN THIS WORLD SAY!!!!
IF THIS SHOW CONTINUES TO SHOW UNPROFESSIONAL
FAVORATIZM FOR THOSE IDIOTS THAT CAN’T DANCE

    I SAY BOYCOTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Elliott says:

Krupa was the best of all of them. Way beyond Kelli and Donnie. Her and Mya were amazing, but I think Krupa was absolutely amazing. Tall, fast. very fine dancing.

  21. T says:

How did this become about race?! It is absurd to think that because the person you wanted to win did not it must be due to race. It insults the person as well as voters.
When Apollo won no one said anything about race, nor when Emmitt Smith won or when Helio Castroneves or Kristi Yamaguchi. It is not about race but dancing and votes. Mya did not get the votes to win, that is all that happened.
That said I agree with the ealier poster, it is not an even playing field when you put in stars who dance and those like Kelly who are starting from scratch as it were. It should be either or.

  22. Dennis G says:

I totally agree with Mya. It seems sometime that the results are calculated to draw the largest audience – not to pick the best dancer. What was Kelli doing in the semi-finals??? Sure she improved (she had a long way to go at the beginning and should have been eliminated then). Joanna was a much better dancer and most reflected a high degree of skill. I don’t know how to fix the show but the suspicion will always be there that the results are skewed the way that the producers want. No sour grapes just a feeling that I’ve been taken for a ride again.
