Thousands of Tide and Tiger fans are heading towards Jordan Hare Stadium, in Auburn today for the annual Iron Bowl game. Kick-off isn’t until 1:30 p.m. but already people are fighting their way to the stadium.
Alabama enters the bowl unbeaten and hope to remain that way for next week’s SEC title game against Florida. Auburn hopes to be the spoiler to deflect last year’s 36-0 loss to Alabama. This game is the 74th time that Auburn and Alabama have met dating back to 1893. The rivalry spirit still remains true to this day.
You probably know that each year, the Associated Press surveys state sports writers for predictions on the Iron Bowl. Here is one prediction from John Zenor, the state’s AP sports writer who said “This isn’t a difficult pick this season and that’s not a slight toward Auburn nor a pat on the back to Alabama. It’s just reality. Alabama has a better offense, a better defense and better special teams.”
