Adam Lambert wanted the most eclectic album possible

Adam Lambert will not let his American Music Awards controversy keep him from getting back to what’s important to him, like his recently released major-label debut, For Your Entertainment.

Lambert said it took some time to figure out who he wanted to do on the album, so he went for a little bit of everything. He certainly played the glammy side on songs like Down the Rabbit Hole; Lambert said he didn’t want to be known as only a disco king. Lambert told MTV News, “Never did we decide to do one sound. It was always like, ‘I want a little bit of everything, ‘I want it to be a variety platter.”

Apparently the album is a reflection of his weekly performances on Idol, as the singer had to try on different musical hats. “Basically, that’s what I did on ‘Idol’ week to week. I changed it up my look, my sound, the arrangement, vocally, whether it was falsetto or if it was wailing. I wanted the album to do all of that and have all those different colors.”
