Actor, director and movie producer Tyler Perry, who many of you will know as the man behind the “Madea” movies, took to his Web site on Tuesday to announce the sad news of his mom Willie Maxine Perry’s death at the age of 64.
While on the Website, he thanked his fans for all their prayers. According to recent reports from Associated Press, Tyler didn’t actually give any information about where his mother had died or anything about the cause of death.

Perry’s publicist didn’t immediately respond to a phone call. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution was believed to have quoted a 2006 interview with Perry, in which he said his mother was the one that inspired the Madea character.
