Everybody who was attending today’s Nobel Peace Prize ceremony and reception got treated to something very different this year…Jazz. 25-year old Esperanza Spalding was chosen to perform at the reception, following President Obama’s acceptance of the prize.
According to reports from gather.com, the Nobel Peace Prize receptions traditionally feature more classical fare, but going on the words of Nobel Committee Secretary Geir Lundestad, as they had a new type of laureate, they would have a new type of music too.

Singer and bassist Esperanza Spalding, has made quite a name for herself in her short career. At the age of 25, she has already recorded two albums and taught at Berklee in Boston. Oh and we can’t forget that she has now made fans out of Barack and Michelle Obama.
