Thursday night, saw the 2009 College Football Awards handed out on the ESPN network. According to examiner.com, this year’s award winners included Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, and Stanford running back Toby Gerhart.
Toby Gerhart won the Doak Walker Award, for being the nation’s best running back. While running for Stanford in 2009, Toby managed to year rack up 1,736 yards to go along with 26 rushing touchdowns, for a pretty impressive year.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation’s player of the year award for 2009 went to Colt McCoy. This is the second straight year that Colt has won the award. Besides Archie Griffin and O.J. Simpson, McCoy is the only other to have achieved that.
