Paul Malignaggi and Juan Diaz returned to the ring to fight each other again last night, after their controversial fight back in August, in which Juan Diaz won. But that wasn’t the case in last night’s rematch, as Malignaggi won by unanimous decision.
According to Associated Press, 29-year old Malignaggi came out more aggressive than he normally does and consistently landed his jab, while Diaz waited to counter. Brooklyn-based Malignaggi always appeared to have the fight under control.

All three judges scored the fight 116-111 for Malignaggi, who has now improved to 27-3. It was the final judge’s scorecard of 118-110 in their August bout, which prompted the calls for an immediate rematch between the 2 junior welterweights.
