It has recently been confirmed that the Sauber F1 team, have signed up Japan’s Kamui Kobayashi to become one of their two race drivers for the 2010 Formula 1 season. 23-year old Kobayashi was said to have impressed Toyota, while standing in for Timo Glock in the final 2 races of 2009.
Kobayashi admitted that ever since the start of his career, he has dreamed of racing in Formula 1 and now his dream is coming true. He went on to say, that he is very happy his two races in 2009 have earned him a cockpit place, and said that he will do his very best for Peter Sauber’s team.

Kamui has become the first driver to join the team, which is now back in the ownership of founder Peter Sauber after BMW decided to withdraw from Formula 1 at the end of the 2009 season. Sauber says that he was won over, by Kobayashi’s performances in both Brazil and Abu Dhabi.
