U.S public still watch the most TV

U.S citizens still top the pole of most hours watched on television with an average of 4.6 hours per day, however, the UK has seen its highest ever year-on-year increase in television viewing up to 3.8 hours a day.

According to the regulator’s International Communications Market report TV viewing were up 3.2%. Sweden remained the lowest TV watching nation with only an average of 2.7 hours per day.

Out of all the countries, Britain remained the nation with the highest proportion of digital TV services with a staggering 88%. The US with 76%, came in a close second followed by Spain. Ofcom also found that the UK is the second highest texting nation in the world behind the US, with the total amount of messages sent and received in 2008 reaching 1.1 trillion.
