Actor Patrick Stewart is to be Knighted

English screen and stage actor Patrick Stewart, who is probably best known for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and also starred in the movie “X Men,” is all set to be knighted in the New Year’s Honours list.

Patrick will receive his award for his services to drama, and will cap an incredible career that has spanned over 50 years in film and theatre. According to reports from mirror.co.uk, palace sources have said that the Queen is a huge fan of the 69-year old actor.

Stewart, who was born in Mirfield in Yorkshire and left school at the age of 15 to become a reporter, is seen as an inspiration to millions as he fought his way up from a tough childhood, to someone that is at the top of the acting profession.
