Underdog Chris Hollins wins Strictly Come Dancing

We were promised a lot from Strictly Come Dancing final contestants, and they certainly delivered as Chris Hollins beat the odds-on favorite Ricky Whittle to lift the Glitter Ball trophy and be crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion 2009.

This contest seemed so one sided in Whittle favour that everyone was calling it the David and Goliath ballroom battle. However as underdog Chris said “every dog has its day,” and Chris certainly did.

It is true that Chris and Ola may not have had the sensual polish, of Ricky Whittle, the Hollyoaks star, and his partner, Natalie Lowe; however their Charleston had the audience and the TV viewers eating out of their hand. Bruno Tonioli called Chris and Ola’s Charleston “a Strictly Come Dancing classic”.
