On this day 75 years ago, a king was born. And the king I am talking about is Elvis Presley – the King of Rock & Roll. And even though he is not alive to celebrate his 75th birthday personally, it isn’t stopping fans and other people from celebrating.
And according to digitalspy.co.uk, the Smithsonian Institution has found a way to celebrate the King’s birthday, by unveiling a new exhibit. “One Life: Echoes of Elvis,” is to be on display at the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery in L.A. and Washington DC.

The exhibit goes on display as from today, January 8th, 2010. Some of the things on display at the Smithsonian exhibit include a gold bust of Elvis as Julius Caesar by sculptor Robert Arneson, and original artwork from a 1992 Elvis stamp design competition.
