Erica Lee Fired From “Scott and Erica Morning Show”

Mix 105.1′s Erica Lee who stars in the radio show “Scott and Erica Morning Show,” has been fired after 19 years of presenting the show with her co-host Scott, who will remain on the air.
It is thought that the reasoning behind the firing was due to the public not being happy with the show, and has found that it is now quite outdated after 2 decades of being live on air. Another reason is due to the fact that the team are now a staple of Central Florida morning drive radio.
People have been writing in, and one listener said that “I am so sad over this…I will continue to listen to and support Scott and Jay, but I’m going to miss Erica terribly. What a horrible decision the management has made. Thinking about you Erica…”
But another said that “I listened to the Scott and Erica Morning Show because it, to me, was family. As I can see that’s really no longer the case and it really is money motivated I can no longer support that station after knowing how they treat their staff.”

MIX Management has miscalculated badly this time!!! It sure didn’t take long for them to totally revamp their website to exclude Erica!! How sad!! I first got into the radio broadcasting business in 1970, and in all those years, have never found as good a “marriage” as the MIX team of Scott & Erica. I can’t imagine one without the other. Their production and entertainment were unequalled. The “MIX” of their personalities was just the right balance, the perfect blend. They could make you laugh and make you cry…they could make sense out of things for you, offer comfort and perspective, and had a knack for exposing the ridiculous. Most important, they could bring out the best in their listeners. I always had the feeling that they were inviting me into their breakfast nook to share morning coffee and donuts. I wish that this decision would be reversible. Scott & Erica have been my morning staple since the beginning, and I’ll now be in mourning at this loss. I can’t imagine that the show can continue to be the high caliber show that it has been. As for the “new direction” that the station is taking….it will simply be “Lost”….and probably will have lost this listener. Sorry, Scott and Jay: I know that this is a terrible shock for you, too. Erica, you will be sorely missed!
My kids where so sad this morning to heard this news! this is the show that we listened in our wayto school, what a bad desicion for the station .

I’m a high schooler and I can say that many of the students at my small school were shocked by the news. The Scott and Erica show was the only reason they listened to the station. Without Erica most of them said they wouldn’t listen anymore. The fact that a bunch of high school students liked her should count as evidence that she wasn’t “outdated”.
