Katie Piper has first interview in U.S after acid attack

The former TV presenter and British model Katie Piper tells why she has finally waived her right to anonymity and reveals the awful events that changed her life for ever. Her dreams were destroyed when a stranger threw sulfuric acid in her face on a London street.
The attack happened in March 2008 in London, the attack left Katie horribly disfigured, which meant the model had to have numerous reconstructive surgeries. Katie Piper sat down wit h20/20″ co-anchor Elizabeth Vargas in her first interview in the U.S in which she spoke about the struggle to survive.
Katie went on to say that she did not make a New Years resolution, however the brave star said that she is “excited about 2010.” She added that she had a new found confidence and she feels physically and mentally stronger. Katie has set up a foundation to change the way burns are viewed in society.
