James Cameron’s “Avatar” movie just keeps proving what a box office hit it really is, by staying on top. According to nytimes.com, “Avatar” has managed to reign supreme at the box office again this weekend just gone.
The sci-fi spectacular managed to keep its first place position, with domestic sales hitting $48.5 million, which according to box office tracking services is down from the $68 million that it made the week before.

As for the rest of the top slots, “Sherlock Holmes” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” both held their second and third place positions. The new vampire movie “Daybreakers,” came in at number 4 with $15 million.
