Sol Campbell Rejoins Gunners

Sol Campbell has rejoined up with Arsenal after a long spell at Portsmouth, and a very short one at lower league club Notts Country where he only managed to play one game. Campbell will play for the reserves against West Ham on Tuesday with a view to a “permanent” move.

The now 35-year-old is a former England defender, and has been a free agent after leaving Notts County last month. Hull City and Newcastle United were also interested in the former Tottenham Hotspur defender, but Arsenal always seemed to be his first choice, and is still held in high regard by Arsene Wenger.

Wenger said he would have been interested in signing new Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira, who also used to play for the club.

“He has a fantastic attitude and good fitness.” “Of course he is not the youngest, but he is in a very good shape. He can still play in the Premier League, I’ve said that many times,” said the Arsenal Manager.
