This year’s Grammy Awards definitely looks set to be a great show, especially for Michael Jackson fans. According to bbc.co.uk, a 3D film that was due to be used in the King of Pop’s planned comeback gigs in London is to be screened at the awards as a tribute.
The footage was originally going to be shown during Michael’s performance of the “Earth Song” at the O2 Arena shows which were due to begin in July 2009. But the singer died on 25th June 2009, before the film had a chance to air. But it’s getting its chance now.
Singers that include Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and Usher, will be performing alongside the clip, which features a young girl wandering around in a forest that is then destroyed. The clip is actually intended as a warning about the dangers of global warming.
Grammy’s co-executive producer Ken Ehrlich says that he was with Michael Jackson on the night before his death, when the singer viewed the 3D clip for the first time. Ehrlich says Jackson, who will be honored with a lifetime achievement award, was moved to tears.
