Wade Phillips gets contract extension with Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys, made an announcement on Thursday that they have in fact given their head coach Wade Phillips an extension on his contract, which will now see him staying with the team through the 2011 season.

According to guardian.co.uk, the extension of contract for Phillips, who’s just completed his third season with the Cowboys, has come less than 2 weeks after he led the team to its first playoff win since 1996, with a 34-14 win against the Eagles.

When speaking at a news conference, Phillips said that he was excited about being the coach there, and said that it didn’t matter if it’s for one year or 10. He then went on to say that he feels very comfortable with the team right now.

Wade Phillips has a 33-15 record with the Dallas Cowboys during the regular season, and a 1-2 playoff record. The Cowboys were unfortunately eliminated from the playoffs last week, when they were beaten 34-3 by the Minnesota Vikings.
