
Bobby Bragan: Mr Baseball Dies aged 92

Bobby Bragan the man everyone knows as Mr Baseball, has sadly died at his home in Fort Worth at the age of 92. Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig said “the death of this legend has saddened his fans.
Bobby spent seven seasons as a major league manager: with four different clubs Pittsburgh (1956-57), Cleveland (1958) Milwaukee (1963-65) and Atlanta (1966) Braves. He compiled a record of 443-478. Bud Selig went on to say that “Bobby had a long and wonderful baseball career as a player, coach, and manager.”
Bragan made his final appearances as a player, at age 41, going 1 for 6 in three games. Bragan took over in Spokane on July 1, 1958. Bobby was named Mr Baseball for his decades of dedication to the game. At the ripe age of 88 he managed his former minor league team, the Fort Worth Cats.
