Jay Leno keynote at White House Correspondents Association dinner

Well, it looks like the new “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, has landed himself an extra special job this week. According to digtriad.com, the late-night comic will be the featured entertainer at the upcoming annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Ed Chen, who is the President of the WHCA, said that the black-tie, nationally televised dinner will be held on May 1st this year. Every year, the dinner is traditionally attended by the president, who delivers a keynote rivaling that of the hired entertainer.

The dinner normally attracts about 3,000 Washington elite, as well as the press and celebrities. The association was formed back in 1914 as a liaison between the White House press corps and the presidents, and every president since Calvin Coolidge has attended.

In other Jay Leno news, Oprah Winfrey has said that she is all set to do a one-on-one interview with the talk show host. According to a report at theday.com, her production company said that an offer has been made to Conan O’Brien to appear as well.
