It appears from a recent report at accesshollywood.com, that a retrial date has been set by a Bahamian court in the case of the two people accused of conspiring to extort millions of dollars from actor John Travolta, in the aftermath of his 16-year old son’s death.
Attorney Michael Perkins, who is Travolta’s lead counsel, has issued a statement that said that the retrial date has now been set for September 6th, 2010. He also said that the Travolta family will remain committed to full cooperation with all law enforcement and prosecution authorities.

The previous case last year ended in a mistrial, after a Bahamas government official announced the acquittal of both Tarino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater, before the jury deliberations were even finished. At that time, it was uncertain if there was to be a retrial.
Travolta appeared in a Bahamas court last year, to testify against the two who were accused of extortion. Lightbourne is the paramedic that treated Travolta’s son Jett, while Bridgewater is his attorney. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
