55-year old Simpson, who’s also known as Dr. Green Eyes, was with 93.9 WKYS for sixteen years, before he moved his morning show “The Donnie Simpson Morning Show,” over to WPGC 95.5 back in 1993, where he spent 16 years.

It’s been reported that contract negotiations between Simpson and CBS Radio fell through. Simpson is not allowed to work on air in Washington now, for 13 ½ months per the non-compete clause that’s in his contract with CBS.

When speaking to his listeners on Friday morning, Simpson said that it is only a temporary separation until February 2011. But he didn’t actually reveal any of his future plans.
