Now that the first episode in the final season of Lost has aired we thought we would see what our readers thought about the episode, I haven’t yet seen the episode however followed BuddyTv’s liveblog.
The whole Lost series has featured such a complicated plot with so many twists and turns that finalizing everything must have been difficult for the writers, this pretty much ensures that it will receive its fair share of critics.
Following the liveblog proved to be pretty hard work, especially as an independent understanding of what exactly is going on may not be accurate, that said John Kubicek done a very good job of keeping us up-to-date.
All in all Buddy TV’s writer John Kubicek scores the episode a ‘B-’, Kubicek seemed unimpressed with the ‘temple people’, however was happy with “the Island, Ben, Locke and their group”. If anything however this episode created more loose-ends then it tied-up, which means Lost followers may feel a little bit disappointed.

It was sooo good! I love the unfolding plot between Jacob and the man in black, and I love that Hurley’s “gift” lets him see Jacob! I was sad to see Bram die – that was unexpected, but this new Locke is badass and very very exciting to watch. Oh, and what fun to have Charlie back!!
I just blogged on this episode at http://themothchase.wordpress.com – check us out!
*Spoilers ahead*
holy crap, i just finished watching the episode and i must admit i’m pretty confused right now… I mean what the hell happened with the plot, I don’t even know if the guys at 815 on this episode live in an alternate reality or something like that… What the hell is Desmond doing at the plane!? why is the island under the sea?! what the hell is jacob planning to do with all the “oh yeah Hurley you must take Sayid to the temple to save him along with the guitar case i gave you like years ago that you still happen to have with yourself after all the time shifts you went through…” why would jack have a wound right on the neck, but the really intriguing part is if Jack (from the plane) remembers anything, if he’s dreaming it all up, if it’s real then how the fvck would the island storyline make sense with the plane storyline (i really do hope there’s a bigass explanation for this and hope the producers won’t “do a desmond” again… cause that’s what they usually do when they can’t explain something… i believe that Jack will magically do a Desmond for the storyline to ahemmm *make sense*)
anyways as a big fan of the series i firmly expect the final season to be the best in all the history of action/drama/sci-fi tv series (not that there are many of its kind…) but you know what i mean…
Anyways hope that if you haven’t seen the episode you might just wanna take a look at it yourself and not read my spoiler alert-comment… And if you’ve already seen it then you might be as confused as I am…
Cheers!
I’m not sure how this alternate world/timeline will work, but I hope it is somehow connected to the island in some way. We’ve been following the people on the island for so long, even another version of them that hasn’t developed lacks to connection to the audience.
It looks like this season will be the conclusion of the epic struggle between Smokey and Jacob. When I saw Sayid get up, I instantly thought of the ‘Last Supper’ poster. Jacob now inhabits Sayid’s body which is why in the poster Sayid is Judas, and Smokey is Jesus. And Smokey may not be that bad though he has a mean streak. All he wants is to get back home.
Review of the episode on my blog:

My goodness! I was hoping for answers in the new season but I’ve been left with even more questions. What the hell is going on?? The only thing I can tell is Locke is dead (really???) but if anyone would make use of his body, should it not be thesame DEAD body that would be made use of? (Unless it’s revealed Locke was cloned in d next episode which is very unlikely)And now we’ve got 2 story lines (again!)I can’t seem to find Faraday as well, maybe he will answer some questions. One thing’s for sure though…Next episode is eagerly anticipated.
Cloned? Not so much. Clearly he the smoke monster can only shapeshift into dead bodies that are on the island. He doesn’t use their body, just their image. He used christian, he used alex, he used echo’s brother yemi, and he used locke.
well that smoke monster is that man in black that wants to kill jacob. And i liked the foreshadowing of when that guy that talks to juliet after she dies and basically says that it worked, they fixed it. But why the hell are they still on the island????
