Lost Theories: Season 6 thoughts on Desmond

When “Lost” returned to our screens last night for its sixth and final season, many fans thought that their unanswered questions may start getting answered. But in true “Lost” fashion, what they got instead was a bit more confusion and maybe more questions.

And one of the main topics of people’s questions has to be Desmond, who is played by Henry Ian Cusick. If you are a true “Lost” fanatic and you’ve been watching it from the very beginning, then you’ll remember just how we met Desmond – he was the guy in the hatch.

Lost Theories: Season 6 thoughts on Desmond

Well when “Lost” returned last night, it in fact depicted a totally different outcome where the Oceanic 815 flight never crashed. And low and behold, there was Desmond on the flight, sitting next to Jack. Now that must have really confused the hell out of people.

So now that the season 6 premiere is over and done with, we thought that we would take a look at some of your theories on Desmond and why he was on the plane. You can read more theories over at theoriesonlost.com, but we thought we’d give you just a few of them.

One of your theories was that Desmond is maybe capable of jumping in and out of different time periods. Another was along those lines; saying that Des was maybe time traveling and another said that maybe Des disappeared because of Charlie not dying on the plane.

    I think that Desmond may be supposed to be the constant for both realities but his appearance was somewhat cancelled out be Charlie not dying on the plane and there may be censequences later on because of this

    There is no island, there is no Charles Widmore.
    Desmond is there in a totally unrelated matter.

    Due to the events surrounding the incdent, Desmond’s sailboat was never drawn to the island and Desmond was heading to L.A. from Sidney for another reason.

    if the island got sunk in 1977 obviously desmond couldn't have crashed his boat there although we still need an explanation for why he was on the plane

    Desmond was smuggling turtles from Sydney in a specially designed didgeridoo that was in the planes hold. one turtle escapes and after eating American popcorn evolves into the giant island in the alternative Lost timeline.

    So is Desmond the package that Widmore was referring to? if so why would that mean anything to Jin? Or is there someone else on the Sub other that Desmond that is the package? More question and less answers is what we have so far in season 6.

    desmond is the package, and widmore believes that jim and/or sum are the choosen ones – so he has to garantee that both of than get out of the island. but… is wildmore the good guy ever? why? will he invest all he's fortune to save the world?
