A new romantic drama/war movie opened up in theaters across North America recently, and the film in question is “Dear John,” which is based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks and stars Channing Tatum as John, and Amanda Seyfried as Savannah.
And we thought that seeing as though the movie has just been released, we would bring you a movie review but from a young viewer’s point of view. And according to eagletribune.com, it was described as a romantic weepie, with the drama.

The story revolves around John and Savannah, who fall in love during a two week leave that John is taking from the military. John then heads off to war, while she returns to school. But they remain in contact with each other, through detailed letters.
Tatum, who has previously starred in movies such as “Fighting” and “Step Up,” shows his sensitive side in this movie. The review also says that besides the love story that’s mixed in with the war, there is an interesting side plot involving John’s dad.
But unfortunately, the review does say that the movie steered its way into unnecessary dramatic plot points. It also says that by the time the movie had finished, it had completely driven off course. Feel free to give us your own opinions on the movie.
