When it was first announced that Paula Abdul was quitting “American Idol” and daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would be her permanent replacement, there were quite a few mixed reactions from fans of the show.
And even now, people are still dubious about whether it will work having her as a judge or not. And although the ninth season of “American Idol” is now underway, the fans have still not had a chance to see Ellen judging.

But they will be able to very soon, as according to a report at digitalspy.co.uk, Ellen DeGeneres will be making her “American Idol” judging debut this week. Ellen will be joining Simon, Kara and Randy, for the Hollywood round.
We have now seen all the auditions, which have included auditions in Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta, and now we are on to the Hollywood round, which will be starting as from February 9th.
