Marilyn Monroe: New photos go on sale

According to a recent report at reuters.com, new photos of the late Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe, in which she appears relaxed and lounging around a New York apartment only 9 months before she died, were unveiled on Friday.

The black-and-white photos, which were taken by photographer Len Steckler when Marilyn Monroe unexpectedly arrived at his apartment in December of 1961, had previously been held in a private archive for over 45 years.

Steckler is now offering them for a sale as a limited edition series, which is called “Marilyn Monroe: The Visit.” The pictures to be sold show Monroe, wearing some pointed, thick-rimmed glasses and a short sleeve dress, while laughing and talking.

Len, who is around 80-years old now, said that he decided to sell the photos after his son discovered the negatives in a recent appraisal of his work. The photos, which have never been published for public use, will range in price from $1,999 to $3,999.
