Super Bowl 2011

Now that we have just seen the 2010 Super Bowl game take place yesterday, the focus will now shift to the preparations for the Super Bowl events in 2011. And it appears that the focus has already shifted, for people in the Dallas Area.

The Super Bowl events in 2011 will need a dramatic but temporary overhaul, of parts of the North Texas transportation system. According to dallasnews.com, this includes a temporary rail station in Arlington, and some changes to highway lanes.

While speaking in great detail, the person who is leading the local transportation effort laid out the many changes, while visiting the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee booth on Saturday. There were talks about plans for rails, highways and buses.

There will also be a transportation VIP treatment, for groups that range from league executives, to the thousands of media members that cover the Super Bowl. Host committee member Michael Morris, said that there are a lot of customers with high-end needs.

Morris, who is also the transportation director for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, said that a large part of the effort is to get people out of their rental cars, and into trains. Transport agencies are even planning to offer a one-week rail pass.
