Anchor Bay Entertainment has picked up the last film “Abandoned” by actress Brittany Murphy who sadly died from a cardiac arrest in December. It is believed that the movie will be released in the summer of this year.
Murphy, who co-starred in films like “8 Mile,” “Clueless” and “Girl Interrupted” mainly worked on small films. In more recent years Abandoned produced by Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz is a thriller in which Murphy plays Mary Walsh who takes her boyfriend to hospital he vanishes with no record of him left behind. Soon, however, she receives a ransom demand.
Brittany finished shooting the movie in June last year. Schenck said that Murphy will be “deeply missed by everyone who worked on Abandoned.” President Bill Clark from Anchor Bay Entertainment said it was an “honour and bittersweet” to release the film.
