According to a recent report at buddytv.com, it has been reported that production of the hugely popular American TV series “24,” has had to have been shut down recently, to enable its main star Kiefer Sutherland to undergo surgery on a ruptured cyst.
The cyst, which is said to be near the actor’s kidney, was reported to have ruptured earlier in the week, but shooting for the series continued without him until Friday, as he wasn’t needed. But they soon had to halt production, as Kiefer was the center of the scenes.

Production is hopefully going to resume later this week. Kiefer’s publicist said that although Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, both he and Fox decided that it would be best if he was to have the minor elective surgery now rather than later.
