It looks like the spotlight is going to be shining on the West Memphis Three soon, when another Hollywood celebrity brings attention to the case. According to a report at wreg.com, “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Johnny Depp will be appearing, in Saturday night’s “48 Hours Mystery.”
During his appearance, he will be calling for a new trial for the West Memphis Three Jessie Misskelley, Damien Echols and Jason Baldwin, who were all convicted in the satanic-style murder of three boys. Depp has said that he truly believes 1000 percent, that all three are totally innocent.

Depp will tell “48 Hours Mystery,” that he can relate to the case. He says he grew up in a small town in Kentucky, where he says he was judged by his appearance. Depp also says that the trial focused more on the teens’ interest in heavy metal music and Steven King novels, than the evidence.
One of the three victims was Pam Hobb’s son, Stevie Branch. And now, more than 16 years after her son’s murder, even she isn’t convinced that the police caught the killer. Hobbs now hopes that the national spotlight will help re-open the case for the West Memphis Three.
