Adam Lambert on Susan Boyle: Do you believe it?

As we mentioned in a post a couple of days ago, singer and former “American Idol” contestant Adam Lambert was said to have hit out at British singing sensation Susan Boyle recently, by describing her debut album – “I Dreamed a Dream – as “terrible.”

He also went on to talk about Susan’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” saying that it made him cry with laughter. Reports have surfaced all over the Internet about this story recently, including a report over at dailystar.co.uk.

Adam Lambert on Susan Boyle: Do you believe it?

According to that report, Adam spoke yesterday, and said that while he was happy for Susan’s success, he thinks her debut album is terrible. The reports all claim the same – that Adam spoke out after his debut album failed to make the No. 1 spot.

As you can imagine, the reports appear to have sparked a reaction from both Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle’s fans. And it looks like a few people are saying the same thing – that they don’t believe that Adam Lambert would say bad things about Susan’s album.

Do you believe that he could have said that stuff, or is it a possibility that it could have just been taken out of context? Feel free to vote in our poll below.

I believe he was probably asked about Susan's album, and indicated that he wasn't impressed. I seriously doubt he said it in the way he was quoted, unless he suddenly became a British man (who, from reports, used almost exactly the same words the author of the article himself used to describe his reaction to the album). Adam is honest – sometimes to a fault – but he's never shown himself to be gratuitously mean, or to strike out at someone who hasn't attacked him first. Adam himself said he was misquoted, and I believe him. In any event, the quotes didn't say anything bad about Susan on a personal level – certainly not like the kind of horribly nasty personal attacks that are constantly launched against Adam.

I believe he said it, but not not in the way it was reported. I agree with him.

Adam would not say that, ever!

Adam is the most gracious artist out there. He is constantly praising and endorsing other artists and their work. I certainly do not believe he would dis on Susan Boyle especially since he is about to launch his promo tour for his album outside the US and Canada. That would be stupid and reckless and he certainly is not that. He said he was misquoted and I certainly believe him. On the other hand, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I don't see what the big deal is. JMO.

He doesn't deny saying it, he says he was misquoted which is a weak resonse. A better response would be I didn't say that, I said this… If he said he didn't like her cd, or that rendition of WH, why not just say that? The fact that he won't say exactly what he said, or what he claims to be misquoted on, (the her cd is terrible part or the her rendition of WH was horrendous, or that it was sacrilegous?) is pretty telling. And the reporter of GT is standing by the quote. So there is something we don't know here. Adam obviously said something not nice that he doesn't want to say, even if misquoted, what ever he said couldn't have been very nice and he was JUST saying on VH1 (I saw this interview) that he would NEVER talk dirt about another artist. So either A) He never said anything bad about Susan B and the reporter flat out lied….B) He said something bad, but not exactly what the reporter reported…or C) he's a hypocrit and he does talk dirt about other artists.
