George Clooney’s Villa: Paparazzi Strike Again

It appears from a recent report at timesonline.co.uk, that Hollywood actor George Clooney is apparently selling his villa that he shares with his Italian girlfriend on Lake Como, after their privacy was unfortunately invaded by both paparazzi and fans.

Reports say that potential buyers of the 18th-century Villa Oleandra at Laglio on Lake Como, which Clooney was said to have purchased back in 2002 for a reported $8 million, include English footballer David Beckham, who currently plays for AC Milan.

Beckham and his wife Victoria – currently living in a hotel in Milan – are said to have fallen in love with the villa, while staying with George Clooney last spring. The Italian media, have also said that Russian tycoon Roustam Tariko is another potential buyer.

However, Tariko’s company have insisted that he has not even seen the villa at all, and say that he has never expressed an interest in buying it. The villa complex, which includes a jetty, botanical gardens and tennis courts, is said to be on sale for 20 million Euros.

Clooney’s girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, was reported to be furious last year, when the villa became staked out by the paparazzi. The couple was even angrier, when photographers apparently climbed over the villa wall and took photos of Clooney and Canalis.
