Simon Cowell’s career and Susan Boyle’s need for 24-hour care

Simon Cowell appears to be on an unbelievable roll at the moment. He is one of the highest paid television executives of all time – he’s worth about $175 million – he’s just about to launch his new “X Factor” show in the United States, and he is supposedly engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy.

It just seems that everything is just wonderfully perfect for Mr Cowell. But according to a report at huffingtonpost.com, there are just two words that should be said to Simon Cowell: Susan Boyle. Susan’s brother Gerry has recently claimed that she needs “24 hour care.”

Simon Cowell’s career and Susan Boyle’s need for 24-hour care

According to Gerry Boyle, 47-year old Susan needs to be looked after. Gerry says that the whole fame thing, with all the travelling, is exhausting for his sister. And while speaking in an interview with people.com, Gerry admitted that his sister still has her anxieties.

And in an earlier interview, Gerry Boyle confirmed that Susan was experiencing “crushing loneliness.” Up until 2007, the Scottish singing sensation – who suffered from learning difficulties when she was a child – had lived with her mom, in a small council house in Scotland.

But since April last year, Susan’s life has become unrecognizable and she has become an international celebrity. But the resulting cracks in her psyche are just impossible to ignore. After coming runner-up on “Britain’s Got Talent,” Susan booked into the Priory Clinic for exhaustion.

Since an intruder broke into her Scottish home recently, she has had a 24 hour guard stationed at her front door and last week, she was said to have collapsed while on her way to France. There is only one person who appears to have benefited from her sudden fame – Simon Cowell.

I think her brothers 'concerned' comments about Susan are only going to add to her anxiety. Why doesn't he arrange more support for her instead of blabbing to the newspapers. The more I read and hear about her brother Gerry, the more I dislike him.

Regarding Susan Boyle needing care – I'm sure there is an older woman out there with training who would love to be Susan"s personal assistant. Someone who is dedicated, kind, loyal and organized who is willing to devote all their time to her.

Celebrities and Royalty have had someone like that for years – I don't find this a complicated situation.

I'm sure someone like that could be found for Susan.

Many have benefited from Susan's success. She herself maintains in EVERY interview and performance that she is happier than she has ever been. She is photographed/video'd daily…been performing live on stages in multiple countries..all available online to watch. It's obvious that Pemberton and some others in the music biz want Susan to stop singing. She is doing too well and making them look bad. LOL Susan Boyle's CD has sold well over 8 million copies in 3 months and still going. It's Platinum in 14 countries and the Middle East GCC, and the EU, and has reached Gold in 17 additional countries. That's 53 Platinum certifications and 17 Gold Certifications in 37 countries and the EU. And she sold 97% physical CD's – unheard of in this digital age.

Please! Does some second-rate blogger who calls himself a critic know beans about the biggest team in show business today? Hardly. He's a Susan hater (read his earlier blogs about her) because she's shaking up the music scene worldwide, on which he considers himself an expert. All the fake "meltdown" reports will not stop Susan from her magnificent performances & album success. She's adjusting to her fame quite well; it's her gossipy brothers who seem to have the problem–they didn't mind leaving her alone & lonely before she had money.

Cracks in her psyche? You mean those manufactured & misrepresented incidents, disputed by eyewitnesses? Do some research & get real.

    Well said Mary Joe!

Susan is doing GREAT! & has already proved the critics 100% WRONG!!

It was in fact John Boyle who made the 24 hour care comment. The comment was presented without context sandwiched into a Gerry Boyle interview. I have heard that he actually was speaking about her need for security, but that is just rumor. We don't know what he meant because there was no context.

Susan has a lot of new stress lately, the travel, the papparazi, tabloids and others who use "creative editing" to increase the controversy around her, a break in, and her brother Gerry's rather indiscreet comments. I'm sure it is a strain and many of us are concerned for her. I'm sure she could use as much support as she can get.

She is, however; a grown woman who has managed to get through some very hard times. No one was rushing to the rescue when she had to come to terms with grief, loneliness, and near poverty. Interesting how many people want to run her life for her now that she is a success.
