Last week we brought you the sad news of the death of SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau, who was killed by a killer whale at the Orlando, Florida Park last Wednesday. And according to a report at examiner.com, Dawn was laid to rest in Chicago yesterday.
Dawn’s family and friends came together on Monday, to remember the 40-year old trainer for her faith and the positive impact that she had made on the lives around her. Following the funeral service, Dawn was buried in a cemetery in suburban Chicago.

According to the initial reports, Brancheau’s ponytail was grabbed by the 12,000-pound orca whale – who’s nicknamed “Tilly” – last Wednesday. She was then pulled into the water, and sadly died after suffering traumatic injuries and drowning.
Brancheau was the lead trainer at SeaWorld, Orlando and according to a report at the Orlando Sentinel; she had wanted to work with whales since the age of nine. Brancheau is survived by her husband. Our thoughts again go out to Dawn’s family and friends.
