When the latest episode of “American Idol” aired last night, the viewers were expecting to see the girls perform. But with one of the female contestants – Crystal Bowersox – being hospitalized on Tuesday, there was a last minute switch-around and the boys performed instead.
So let’s get straight down to how they all done. Michael Lynche performed “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” and delivered it with the perfect blend of soul and energy. After John Park finished performing “Gravity,” Ellen and Kara urged him to let loose and show more feeling.

Alex Lambert in the meantime sang “Everybody Knows,” while Casey James performed “I Don’t Wanna Be.” His guitar work may have been fun, but his vocals just didn’t appear to be there. Lee Dewyze sang “Lips of an Angel,” which Simon Cowell appeared to like.
Todrick Hall’s performance of “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” didn’t seem to impress the judges much and I don’t think that Tim Urban’s “Come on Get Higher” did either. Jermaine Sellers performed “What’s Going On,” and according to seattlepi.com, sounded a bit shout-y in places.
Andrew Garcia went with “You Give Me Something,” which Kara described as playing it safe. And finally, Aaron Kelly performed “My Girl.” Simon said that he thought he had regressed, while Ellen said that she wished he had of used his newfound confidence on a more powerful song.
