Crystal Bowersox: Illness recovery helped by American Idol

When people tuned in to watch “American Idol” on Tuesday, they were actually expecting to see the girls perform. But the show had made a last-minute switchover with the boy/girl schedule, so they got to watch the boys perform on Tuesday instead.

And when they tuned into Wednesday’s episode, they got to watch the girls perform rather than the boys, who were originally scheduled for Wednesday. And the reason, behind the quick change was that Crystal Bowersox had been hospitalized on Tuesday.

The last-minute change of schedule gave 24-year old Bowersox – who’s from Ohio – a bit more time to recover from her illness. While “American Idol” spoke about her illness and hospitalization, they didn’t actually mention what the illness was.

However, recent online reports have suggested that it was in fact a diabetes scare that hospitalized the Ohio mom. And when it came to Wednesday, Bowersox was back on the show performing and impressing the judges in the process.
