James Toney: Officially Signed to UFC with a multi-fight Deal

Back in January James “Lights Out” Toney demanded to talk to UFC President Dana White shortly after UFC 108, the former Middleweight, Super-Middleweight, Cruiserweight and Heavyweight champion was looking for a career in mixed martial arts after a very successful boxing career.

Yesterday it was announced that the UFC has signed Toney to a multi-fight deal, exactly when he will fight first is hard to say however it is thought that Juanito Ibarra (Rampage Jackson’s old trainer) will be helping Toney develop as an MMA fighter.

So far it seems as if a natural fight for Toney to take would be against Kimbo Slice, however after being cocky during the UFC 108 post event interviews Dana White may just attempt to humiliate Toney by putting him up against a very formidable opponent.

Its hard to call whether or not Toney will prove to be a successful mixed martial artist, however anyone who has had such a distinguished career with so many knockout wins stands a chance in the UFC, Toney’s main weakness will probably be his ground game.

How do you think James Toney will do in the UFC?
