American Idol results March 4 2010: 16 contestants left out of Top 20

After seeing the boys perform on Tuesday night and the girls on Wednesday night, last night’s episode of “American Idol” was the elimination episode. And just as it was last week, 4 contestants were sent packing this week, leaving it then to the Top 16.

And when it came down to the male contestants, it was John Park – who chose to sing “Gravity” by John Mayer – who was the first to be eliminated. He was then followed by Jermaine Sellers – who sang “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye.”

That now means that the boys who are safe and going on to perform again next week are Michael Lynche, Casey James, Alex Lambert, Andrew Garcia, Todrick Hall, Tim Urban, Lee DeWyze and Aaron Kelly. Now we can go onto the female competitors.

According to gather.com, the first female to get eliminated was Haeley Vaughn, who sang Miley Cyrus’s “The Climb.” The second female to be sent home was Michelle Delamor, who sang “With Arms Wide Open,” which was a past hit by the group Creed.

So it was great news for recently-hospitalized Crystal Bowersox, as it meant she was advancing to the Top 16. Joining her to perform for us next week are Lacey Brown, Katie Stevens, Lilly Scott, Katelyn Epperly, Paige Miles, Siobhan Magnus and Didi Benami.
