Sport Relief 2010: Dirty Dancing cast rise to the challenge

Many celebrities and members of the general public have been taking part in various events recently, to raise money for Sport Relief. And the same can be said for the cast of the hit West End musical Dirty Dancing, who have also been supporting the cause.

The cast of Dirty Dancing – the Classic Story on Stage – have definitely been having the time of their lives while supporting Sport Relief, and have even been trying out the brand new Sport Relief Socks that are now available to purchase at Sainsbury’s.

Stars of the stage show, Martin Harvey and Hannah Vassallo, who play Johnny Castle and Frances “Baby” Houseman, recreated one of the show’s iconic lifts recently, and were wearing the special Sport Relief Socks while they were doing it.

Jacobsen Entertainment, producers of Dirty Dancing, said “We at Dirty Dancing are delighted to be supporting Sport Relief 2010.” The money that is raised in Sport Relief, helps vulnerable people not only in London, but the rest of the UK and overseas.

Dirty Dancing will be joining people from all over the city, to participate in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in London, on Sunday 21st March. Johnny and Baby will make a special appearance, before sending all participants off on the Dirty Dancing Wave.

It doesn’t matter whether Milers run, walk or even dance their way along the route, because everyone can set their very own challenge by choosing to do 1, 3 or 6 miles. The Sport Relief Socks are available to buy for £2, with at least £1 going to Sport Relief.
