Slash and ‘Dora the Explorer’ Team Up For Charity Backpack

According to an article on postchronicle.com, it appears that guitarist Slash – best known for being a member of Guns N’ Roses and founder of The Velvet Revolver – has recently teamed up with kid’s television network Nickelodeon for charity.

And their plans are to create a “Dora the Explorer” backpack, to raise money for The Children’s Defense Fund. According to a report at pr-inside.com, Slash will be launching a celebrity designed line of backpacks, which will then be sold at auction this summer.

Reports say that a limited number of backpacks will be going on sale in the United States, Canada, France, Spain and Britain. All the money raised from the auctions will benefit childhood education programs in each respective country.

43-year old Slash – whose real name is Saul Hudson – will be putting his own personal touches to the design, which will feature popular cartoon character Dora the Explorer. Singer Shakira and actress Salma Hayek are also contributing to the project.
