If you are a sports fan and a basketball fan in particular, then you may already know that the Big 12 Tournament kicked off today. The tournament is taking place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, and goes from Wednesday 10th March, until Saturday 13th March.
The opening game – which took place today at 11:30am – saw number 8 Colorado, facing number 9 Texas Tech. And according to a report at collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com, Texas Tech managed to defeat Colorado 82-67, with four scorers hitting double figures.
John Roberson scored 19 points, Nick Okorie scored 18 points, Brad Reese scored 16 points and Mike Singletary scored 13 points, all helping towards the Red Raiders’ win. Texas Tech will now face up against number 1 Kansas at 11:30am Thursday.
Today’s opening game was being followed by a game between Missouri and Nebraska. Then at 6pm Wednesday evening, 7th seed Oklahoma State, were to battle their rival 10th seed Oklahoma. The winner of that game, will play against Kansas State on Thursday.
