Former television game-show host Bob Barker – most famous for hosting “The Price is Right” for 35 years – has recently donated $2.5 million to PETA, to help the animal rights organization with the purchase of a new building in Los Angeles.

According to a report at examiner.com, the building will then be used for PETA’s media, marketing, youth outreach and campaign departments. Barker is said to have attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 10th.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bob said “I am delighted to be honoured in this way, particularly for my admiration and respect for PETA.” He then said how PETA is one of the most effective and productive of all animal welfare and rights groups in the world.

Barker – who is 86 years old now – also said that there is still $4 million needed to help PETA renovate the new building that was just purchased. He then said that if they came up with $2 million, he would then donate the other half of the money needed.
