When the Kolkata Knight Riders took on the Deccan Chargers in their first match of the IPL 3, they won by 11 runs. Then they played their second match yesterday, which was against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and won yet again by 7 wickets.
And according to a report at bettingpro.com, Kolkata Knight Riders’ two successive wins appears to have surprised many. After all, the Shah rukh Khan-owned team have had to endure a couple of disgraceful seasons, finishing 6th and 8th respectively.

But for the third edition of the tournament (IPL 3), Souray Ganguly was reinstated as the team’s captain, and Dav Whatmore was signed up as the coach, in replacement of John Buchanan. And Wasim Akram is now acting as the team’s bowling consultant.
In their first game against the Deccan Chargers, the Knight Riders appeared to start badly by losing two wickets in the very first over. But Angelo Mathews managed to smack a half century in that game, following it up with a four wicket haul in Sunday’s game.
Thanks to their two wins in a row, the Kolkate Knight Riders have now become the second favorite team to win the tournament. In the absence of Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum, Brad Hodge is the favorite to top-score for the Knight Riders team.
