Over the last few days, we have been trying to keep all you movie fans up to date with all the casting information for the upcoming “The Last Avenger: Captain America” movie. And now it appears that we have some new information for you.

We’ve already brought you a few names that are being considered, such as John Krasinski, Scott Porter, Michael Cassidy and Chace Crawford. Since then, there appears to have been a few more names added to the mix including Chris Evans and Jensen Ackles.

And to add to the confusion even more, a new name has now been added – Ryan Phillipe. In a recent interview with Collider, the movie’s director Joe Johnston admitted that he was really hoping for an unknown to get the role of Captain America, aka Steve Rogers.

Initially, Johnston said that casting would be done and dusted by March 1st. That date has now come and gone, and we still don’t know who’s taking the lead role yet. All we do know is that it is likely that Australian actor Hugo Weaving, has the role of Red Skull.

Who do you think should get the role?

Jensen Ackles, without a doubt! He is a fine actor and very underrated. He also has the perfect look. I would be more than pleased if he got the role!

I think the real reason they have over run their March 1st casting is because they wanted Jensen Ackles and they can't get him because of his Supernatural contract which forces him into a 6th season that starts filming exactly when Captain America would start filming. Now they are desperately seeking a decent second choice. That won't be said publicly because it would look bad for the film but it seems to fit with what is going on.
