If you have been following all the Tiger Woods news for the last few months, you’ll be aware that there has been quite a bit of speculation recently as to whether or not the world’s number one was returning to professional golf and if he was, when it would exactly be.
And now, it appears that the question can finally be answered. According to usatoday.com, Tiger Woods issued a statement today, in which he confirmed that his long awaited return to professional golf will in fact be from April 8th, for the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.

“The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect,” Tiger said in the statement. He went on to say that after his long and necessary time away from the sport of golf, he feels as though he is ready to start his season at Augusta.
The tournament in Augusta is in fact the first major golf championship of the season, and will be Woods’ first since the incident outside his Orlando estate on November 27th. Woods also said he regrets not being able to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Tavistock Cup.
