Beckham on Crutches: David Back on Feet after Surgery

England football fans were left devastated recently, when news broke that former England Captain David Beckham had suffered an injury, which would unfortunately see him sidelined for six months. The last we reported, was that he was on his way to Finland for surgery.

Well it now looks like 34-year old Beckham has had the surgery to repair the torn Achilles’ tendon and according to an article at Associated Press, David – who had his wife Victoria by his side – was back on his feet on Tuesday, but having to walk on crutches.

According to Beckham’s surgeon Dr. Sakari Orava, the football player “feels fine and is happy,” as he recuperates from the operation he had Monday, at a private clinic in Finland. The surgeon also added that Beckham was in fact remaining at the clinic until Wednesday.

In a statement issued yesterday (Tuesday), Beckham – who was injured in the closing minutes of the AC Milan vs. Chievo Verona game on Sunday – said “I’m feeling positive and now concentratin on getting back to full fitness over the coming months.”
